The Library is offering a book collection service which enables Aston staff and students to request a print copy of a book that is available on the shelves.
All Aston University Library books which are currently out on loan have had their due date extended to 30 October 2020. In addition where possible we have tried to obtain ebooks for any print titles that are on reading lists.
Any books you currently have on loan will not be subject to recall unless there is an urgent need for the book and it is the only copy available. The charging of fines for overdue items has been suspended until 30 October 2020
The Library building is currently only open 12:00 - 14:00 Monday-Thursday for Aston staff and students who have booked a slot to collect any print books they have requested. Only people collecting a book are able to access the Library, any changes will be displayed on our Opening hours page.
You can return any books your have borrowed in the external book box. This is located to the right hand side of the doors and is open 24/7. Just pull the handle and drop your books into the slot. The books will be held in quarantine for 72 hours before being returned off your Library record.
If you would prefer, you can post the books back to us at the following address:
Public Services Co-ordinator
Please note that the book is your responsibility until it has been returned off your account so you may wish to use a track and trace or courier service to be sure of its safe return.
We are currently unable to request print material from other libraries via Inter-library Loan. However, we may be able to source electronic copies of articles.
You should continue to request articles via our Inter-library Loans service and our staff will check the requests and contact you to let you know if they can acquire the article for you.
