Research Bites 2022: Welcome

Welcome to Research Bites 2022

Research Bites are short, informal seminars on topics relevant to researchers at all levels and may be of particular interest to research starters and early career researchers. Delivered by Library Services, the aim is to deliver useful information, start discussions and answer questions for the benefit of anyone conducting research at Aston University. Whether you want a quick refresher on a single topic or a comprehensive update of your information and research skills, you will find something for you.

The sessions were delivered in March and April 2022 in collaboration with the Graduate School and  recordings can be accessed below. Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback; email library@aston.ac.uk.

De-mystifying the REF: a basic overview

April 2022: The main way that the REF affects most researchers is through its open access (OA) policy, which requires that most research outputs are made freely available within a set timeframe in order to be REF-eligible.  This session will focus on the basics of the current structure and the REF OA policy, which remains in effect until the new policy is announced.
